Farewell Tera!
After five intensive and fruitful years, Tera Terpstra is stepping down as the Director of d.o.b foundation. Evert Ludding – who has worked at the foundation for several years as a lawyer – has been appointed by the board as the Interim Director. It is not yet known who shall succeed Tera.

Kick-off First Location Academy for Independence
As a supporter from the first hour, d.o.b foundation is pleased to announce that after years of research, hard work, drive and perseverance the team of the Academy for Independence has set up the first location and up to now 18 students have enrolled in the program for independent living and working.

Tanga Fresh Ltd Moved to New Factory
Tanga Fresh Ltd has moved full production to the new factory. The new factory and grounds have been renovated and nearly all the equipment has been installed. On May 26th 2009 Tanga Fresh officially stopped production in the old factory and moved to the new one. It's a historical moment, since exactly twelve years ago Tanga Fresh started testing dairy production in the old factory.

ENVIU Hybrid Tuktuk Battle with Video!
On May 18th four Dutch teams from different technical universities competed at the ENVIU Hybrid Tuktuk event in Rotterdam. The teams presented their technical solutions to make tuktuks hybrid and their business plans for the implementation and roll out in India.

New project: MYC4
In the world's emerging economies micro, small and medium enterprises are great sources of innovation and growth. They account for over 60 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and 60 to 80 percent of employment. Yet, the necessary financing to allow these entrepreneurs to grow and scale up their business is often unavailable due to unattractive risk-return ratios, high transaction costs and non-collateralized capital.
MYC4 is an online investment platform that tackles this problem.

social e-valuator to Start!
The SROI tool, the social e-valuator™ has gone live! Twelve European foundations have committed to joining the six month pilot starting in January. Goal of the pilot is to learn from these participating funds as they start working with the instrument.

The board of the Universal Spectacles project is looking for someone with operational knowledge of and affinity with production techniques (inject moulding) of spectacles. In addition, the new board member we are seeking has connections in the optical industry.

Harvest Feast
On Friday 10 October d.o.b foundation celebrated its Harvest Feast. Music, inspiring speakers, food and drinks were all ingredients for an event to the potential of Africa. d.o.b foundation also shared where it stands and what lies ahead the coming year. Andrew Mwenda, Proprietor and Managing Editor of the Ugandan News Magazine, The Independent shared his view on the development sector and the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Africa.
