U-specs Looking for New Board Member

The board of the Universal Spectacles project is looking for someone with operational knowledge of and affinity with production techniques (inject moulding) of spectacles. In addition, the new board member we are seeking has connections in the optical industry.

The board now consists of four people: a chairman, a treasurer and two members, one of whom is the director of d.o.b foundation. The board functions as a supervisory board of the project and as a sounding board for the project management. All members are involved on a voluntary basis and meet four to six times a year.

The U-specs project is now in the phase of several pilots (user acceptance and distribution). In 2009 the board and management will start preparing large scale production and roll-out in 2010.
