Each project has its momentum and demands a specific way of selling itself. This can literally mean putting a product into the market, but it does not solely have to be about commercial goals.
Especially in case of innovative ideas it is essential to pay a lot of attention to marketing and communication. You want to present them to the world and make more people enthusiastic so that they will adopt the ideas or further develop them. You also want to approach new investors or ask others to share their knowledge with you.
So invest part of your budget in this or try to find other creative ways of selling your product (interviews or articles in magazines and newspapers, network, symposiums, a big company that wants to commit itself, free cards, word of mouth...).
Whether it’s about organizing a meeting, getting press coverage or building a website; marketing and communication are usually not a luxury but a necessity.
